Topic: Evaluation of some formal expressions on certain algebras
Presenter: PhD Candidate Tran Nam Son, University of Science, Vietnam National University at Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam
Time: 10:00 AM (Vietnam), Thursday, Dec 11, 2025
Location: Room B1-1001, 279 Nguyen Tri Phuong St, Dien Hong Ward, HCMC
Abstract:
Let (F, A,B) be a triple such that F ⊆ A ⊆ B, where F is a field and both A and B are F-algebras. Suppose that f is a formal expression involving some elements of A together with several (possibly noncommutative) variables, where scalars from F commute with all variables. This talk aims to describe certain properties of the set of all evaluations of f obtained by substituting elements of B into the variables of f. Moreover, the topic of this talk is related to the L’vov–Kaplansky conjecture on images of noncommutative polynomials, the injectivity and surjectivity of maps induced by entire functions evaluated on Banach algebras over complete and algebraically closed fields, and the Ax–Grothendieck theorem together with some noncommutative variants.
About presenter:
Tran Nam Son is a PhD student at the University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. He is interested in linear groups, noncommutative algebra, and functions in free noncommuting variables. He has published 17 articles in mathematical international journals (SCIE/Scopus).
