UEH College of Business and Royal Tourism and Restaurant Services Joint Stock Company Sign a Memorandum of Understanding

On the morning of August 13, 2026, UEH College of Business and Royal Service Restaurant Hotel Travel Joint Stock Company held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The two parties also discussed and exchanged views on the signing of Memoranda of Agreement (MOA) with the School of Tourism and the School of International Business and Marketing. The event marked a new milestone in the partnership between the university and the business community, with a focus on strengthening the connection between academic training and practical experience while expanding opportunities for learners to learn, gain hands-on experience, conduct research, and develop their careers.

Attending the ceremony, representatives from the UEH College of Business included Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phong Nguyen - Rector of the UEH School of Business; Dr. Nguyen Tan Trung - Head of COB Office; Dr. Nguyen Duc Tri - Dean of the School of Tourism; Mr. Nguyen The Hung - Head of the Department of Career Competency Development, School of International Business and Marketing; Dr. Le Thi Hong Minh - Director of the Undergraduate Marketing Technology Program, School of International Business and Marketing; and Dr. Truong Hong Ngoc – Lecturer, School of International Business and Marketing.

Representing La Vela Saigon Hotel, the ceremony was attended by Mr. Mai Hai Son - Deputy Director of La Vela Saigon Hotel, Royal Service Restaurant Hotel Travel Joint Stock Company; Mr. Nguyen Van Tu -  Director of World Travel Company (Partner of La Vela Saigon Hotel); and Ms. Le Cao Duong - Secretary to the Director of La Vela Saigon Hotel.

Delivering his remarks at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phong Nguyen - Rector of the UEH School of Business, emphasized that the College places strong emphasis on collaboration between academia and industry to provide learners with a dynamic learning environment and solid opportunities for career development. To realize this goal, the partnership with Royal Service Restaurant Hotel Travel Joint Stock Company will serve as an important resource, creating opportunities for learners to experience a professional working environment, gain exposure to real-world industry requirements, and progressively develop their professional competencies.

On behalf of Royal Service Restaurant Hotel Travel Joint Stock Company, Mr. Mai Hai Son, Deputy Director of La Vela Saigon Hotel, Royal Service Restaurant Hotel Travel Joint Stock Company, expressed his hope that this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) would pave the way for a long-term and effective partnership between La Vela Saigon Hotel and UEH College of Business. Through collaborative programs, La Vela Saigon Hotel looks forward to working closely with the College to create more opportunities for learners to gain practical work experience, enhance their professional expertise and career-related skills, and thereby contribute to the development of a high-quality workforce capable of meeting the increasingly diverse demands of the labor market.

Accordingly, the two parties agreed to pursue collaboration across several key areas. A major focus is on strengthening industry-oriented education through graduation internships and practical-semester programs, as well as company visits and experiential learning activities. The partnership will also create opportunities for industry experts to share practical knowledge and experience, provide skills training, and contribute to the development and evaluation of academic programs. In addition, the two parties will strengthen collaboration in research and practical project implementation, involving faculty members, industry experts, and students in corporate projects. Research projects and organize seminars and forums will also be jointly undertaken to address emerging economic issues and topics of interest to the wider community.

This MOU also opens up opportunities for the two parties to connect and develop entrepreneurial and innovation ideas and projects, while joining hands in the “Giving to UEH - For a More Sustainable Future” program through initiatives that foster talent, support professional development and internationalization, promote knowledge sharing, serve the community, and advance sustainable development. In particular, the partnership will help expand career opportunities and talent acquisition through recruitment activities, practical knowledge sharing, participation in the UEH Sharing - Career Fair series of events, and the promotion of La Vela Saigon’s employer brand among the UEH student and alumni community.

4th ASEAN+ Summer Camp 2026: A Journey of Learning, Discovery, and Connection for UEH Students in Malaysia

Continuing its efforts to expand learning opportunities and provide students with meaningful international experiences, the College of Business – University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (COB – UEH) continued its participation in the ASEAN+ Summer Camp 2026, the fourth edition of the academic and cultural exchange program for students across the region. Held from July 26 to August 1, 2026, and hosted by Universiti Malaya (University of Malaya), Malaysia, this year’s program was organized under the theme “Empowering ASEAN Youth: Innovation, Sustainability and the Future of Regional Economy,” providing students with opportunities to explore the knowledge, perspectives, and capabilities needed to navigate the rapid changes shaping the region and the world.

UEH Students Experience an International Learning Journey at Taiwan Summer University 2026

As part of its ongoing efforts to expand international learning opportunities and provide students with meaningful global experiences, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) continues to facilitate students’ participation in academic and cultural exchange programs with international partner universities. From July 27 to August 2, 2026, Vietnamese students, including students from UEH, participated in the Taiwan Summer University Program in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The program was organized by National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), Taiwan, and Parami University, Myanmar, and hosted by NSYSU.

ICBS 2026 Pre-Conference Workshop: Publishing in Tourism Review and Avoiding Desk Rejections

As part of the International Conference on Business Sustainability (ICBS 2026), UEH College of Business will host a Pre-Conference Workshop featuring Professor Dimitrios Buhalis, Editor-in-Chief of Tourism Review. The workshop will provide practical insights into publishing in high-quality international journals, avoiding desk rejection, and understanding editors’ expectations during the peer-review process.
