On May 22, 2026, UEH College of Business solemnly held a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony with Funding Societies Group—a leading regional digital finance platform headquartered in Singapore that specializes in providing financial support for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) across Southeast Asia. This event marks a significant milestone in UEH College of Business’s strategy to expand its corporate partner network while opening up numerous practical opportunities for students in the fields of finance, technology, and innovation.
Attending the ceremony on behalf of UEH were Dr. Tran Anh Hoa - Vice Rector, College of Business UEH; Dr. Nguyen Tan Trung - Head of COB Office; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Phuong Vy - Vice Dean, School of Finance, Dr. Quach Doanh Nghiep - Director of International Finance Program, School of Finance, along with lecturers, and students from UEH.
Representing Funding Societies were Mr. Kelvin Teo - Co-Founder & Group Director of Funding Societies; Mr. Vo Tien Anh - CEO Funding Societies Vietnam; Mr. Hoang Chau Tuan - Head of Credit, Funding Societies Vietnam; and Mr. Phung Tan Loc - Head of Sales, Funding Societies Vietnam.
In her remarks at the ceremony, Dr. Tran Anh Hoa - Vice Rector, College of Business UEH emphasized that amid the rapid development of digital transformation and financial innovation, strengthening collaboration with pioneering fintech enterprises would not only provide students with earlier exposure to professional practice but also contribute to enhancing the quality of education in line with application-oriented and internationally integrated approaches. UEH consistently considers the connection between academia and industry practice as one of its key strategies in developing high-quality human resources for the digital economy.

Within the cooperation framework for the 2026–2028 period, UEH and Funding Societies Vietnam will jointly implement various activities aimed at strengthening the connection between academic training and business practice. The partnership will promote graduation internships and practical semester programs for students from the School of Finance, providing opportunities for students to gain professional working experience and undertake positions aligned with their academic disciplines. In addition, experts from Funding Societies will participate in knowledge-sharing sessions, skills training, and the development of real-world case studies, while also contributing to curriculum enhancement and increasing the practical relevance of teaching activities. UEH will also share academic research, knowledge, and professional insights with the enterprise through networking activities and periodic academic newsletters.

Following the signing ceremony, UEH and Funding Societies Vietnam co-organized the workshop titled “Entrepreneurship and Funding Opportunities for the Young Startup Community," attracting significant interest from UEH students passionate about entrepreneurship, finance, and innovation.
At the workshop, students had the opportunity to gain practical insights into the growth journey of Funding Societies - from a fintech startup to one of Southeast Asia’s leading digital financial platforms. In particular, Mr. Kelvin Teo - Co-Founder & Group Director of Funding Societies shared valuable perspectives on entrepreneurship, fundraising challenges, and opportunities for young startup communities across the region. The workshop not only helped students better understand the startup ecosystem in Southeast Asia but also provided practical lessons on innovation, adaptability, and entrepreneurial spirit in today’s dynamic business environment.
