II. FOUNDATIONAL VALUE SYSTEM

Traditional values

UEH preserves its traditional values through time by updating and sharing its cultural and historical system in order to create a cultural connection among the different generations who have been studying and working at UEH.

Future values

Aspiring to become a research-oriented university, as well as a prestigious scientific training & research facility in Asia, UEH has worked tirelessly to promote a new, innovative and accessible culture within the university to push forward the ambitions setforth by UEH management in particular, and by Vietnam in general

Culture of scientific research

In implementing and evaluating academic research and capabilities on an individual and organization level, UEH staff and students commit to honoring scientific integrity & truth, conducting meaningful non-profit research, welcoming constructive criticism, respecting intellectual property and research ethics while opposing plagiarism

Behavioral culture

UEH aims to maintain a well-disciplined, professional, efficient yet accessible environment across our university system. All UEH personnel, staff and students included, are held to high standards of behaviors, which hope to raise awareness and highly individual responsibility to ensure integrity and honesty while clearly showing great respect for themselves and others while at UEH

III. CODE OF CONDUCT AT UEH:

For management:

  • Acting appropriately and in accordance with national laws, UEH regulations and Vietnamese traditions
  • Respecting the dignity and rights of others
  • Setting example in complying with rules and regulations; fulfilling self responsibilities; keeping self and UEH reputation
  • Treating staffs fairly and is considerate of their circumstances, assisting staffs in competing their tasks
  • Being friendly, honest and providing opportunities for staff members to express their opinions
  • Being fair and objective in evaluating staff performance
  • Being patient and persuasive

 

For staff members:

  • In relation to UEH authorities
    • ​Fulfilling contractual obligations to the employers
    • Performing assigned tasks with full professional responsibility and bringing forth suggestions regarding the administration of UEH

  • In relation to colleagues
    • ​Integrating, cooperating for the common targets and objectives; building a good relationship at work
    • Being friendly, open, respectful, honest and considerate of others’ circumstances; fulfilling assigned tasks; willing to help colleagues performing their tasks
    • Speaking appropriately; giving criticism that are appropriately motivated and positively intended, in a timely manner; welcoming criticism and seeking to understand the criticism for appropriate adjustments
    • Working on time; participating all the necessary meetings
    • Learning actively

  • In relation to students
    • Working with student-concentrated goals; facilitating learning activities
    • ​Treating students with dignity and respect and is considerate of their circumstances

For students:

  • Code of behaviour in classroom

    • Learning actively, being honest, truthful and critical
    • Complying with, and encouraging others to comply with laws and UEH rules and regulations
