6. Brief Description of Course Content:

The course aims to provide students with fundamental theories of international trade, helping them explain trade patterns between developed and developing countries, as well as between developed countries. The course emphasizes understanding the institutional environment of international trade at the global, regional, and national levels, the role of GATT/WTO, and economic integration in dismantling trade barriers and other globalization-related issues. Particularly, the course focuses on analyzing trade policies employed in both developed and developing countries, the trend of selecting industrial policies over trade policies to realize comparative advantages in nations and promote sustainable trade growth. In addition, the course also analyzes and evaluates trade activities in Vietnam and the policies aimed at promoting these activities.
