The objective of the course is to provide students with developmental land use patterns, impacts on transport and infrastructure and the positive and negative aspects of decentralized growth in order to identify future land use issues and projections and mechanisms to change growth trends.
6. Brief Description of Course Content:
The purpose of this course will be to explore the relationship between transportation and land use. The course will explore how land use patterns evolve, the effects of transportation and infrastructure and the positive and negative aspects of decentralized growth. Issues such as the impacts of urban sprawl, growth strategies, preservation of open space, prediction of future land use, and mechanisms to alter growth trends will be discussed.
