5. Course Objectives:

The aims of the course is to provide students with different methods and graphic techniques for building and visualizing real urban environments, through Adobe Illustrator, SketchUp, ArcGIS, and VR, AR, ... to develop the necessary illustration skills to support the research and work process.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This course provides a basic introduction to visual data collection, processing, and analysis; visualization techniques in urban planning and design; digital tools used in urban visualization; and provides knowledge on graphically communicating concepts and ideas pertaining to the planning and design of cities. The purpose of this course is to teach students a variety of methods and techniques to interactively model and visualize physical urban environments in 2D, 3D through a hands-on approach using computer softwares such as sketchup, arcgis, adobe illustrator, adobe photoshop, and VR, AR… Student is taking this course will develop practical visualization skills necessary for support of research and professional practice through lectures, exercises, assignments, and a final project/presentation. Each student’s work will be reviewed based upon the department’s student learning outcomes as those relate to urban design theories.
