There are many challenges which urban planning and management is currently facing including rural – urban migration, urban environment pollution, water supply systems and urban drainage cannot meet the speed of urban development, mechanization of transportation as well as air pollution. Therefore, it is important to provide immediately the information of urban infrastructure and also socio - economics in order to planning and managing urban and regions effectively and appropriately. Geographic Information System (GiS) is one of efficient information application technology in this field which has been widespread over the world with capabilities of spatial data storage, data processing and analysis.
Hence, this course not only helps learners gain the knowledge background of GiS, GiS data model but also the ability to analyze GiS data in order to conducting research and managing urban following a totally comprehensive and sustainable approach.
