5. Course Objectives:

This course is designed for Master Program of Finance, School of Finance, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. This course aims to provide learners with in-depth financial knowledge related to mergers and acquisitions, both from the perspective of the buy-side and sell-side, and divestment. The course also prepares students for career skills such as synthesis and problem-solving skills; teamwork skills and presentation skills. Therefore, upon completion of this course, students can apply their knowledge and skills to future job.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This course will provide learners with in-depth knowledge of Mergers, Acquisitions (M&A) and divestment such as M&A strategies and tactics; leveraged buyouts (LBOs); antitakeover measures; financing sources of M&A activities, etc. In addition, corporate restructuring and divestments motivations; forms of corporate restructuring and the effect of these forms on shareholder value. In addition, learners are provided an introduction of laws and policies related to M&A and corporate restructuring.
