5. Course Objectives:

The course provides students with basic and advanced knowledge in building strategic thinking on supply chain management and basic operations according to the SCOR model of the Global Supply Chain Association. The module content will reflect the changes in the supply chain management practice, providing modern, dynamic practice scenarios at large (multinational) companies and small and medium-sized enterprises that adapt to the global context with many ongoing fluctuations.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This module introduces the concepts, applications, and tools of Supply Chain Operations and Management in manufacturing and service firms in a global context, specifically:

  • Operations management involves designing, implementing, and improving the system of converting input elements into output products (goods/services) to achieve the firms’ strategic goals effectively.
  • Supply chain management to design, implement, and improve the movement of material elements from input to transformation into "output" factors and manage related factors such as information, finance, risk, legal, policies... to achieve optimal efficiency, the level of activities provided and create positive and sustainable value for firms.
