5. Course Objectives:

This course is designed to equip learners with the mindset and competencies of data-driven management—an essential capability for leaders in the digital era. Students will develop the ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and effectively utilize data to make evidence-based and practical managerial decisions. The course also introduces the foundations of data strategy, the data analytics workflow, and the use of tools such as advanced Excel, Power BI, or basic Python to visualize and communicate insights. In addition, the course fosters critical thinking, data storytelling skills, and ethical awareness in data usage, preparing students to become managers who can harness data as a strategic asset to drive organizational effectiveness and innovation.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

“Data-Driven Management” course provides both theoretical foundations and practical applications of using data in the management and decision-making process. Course content covers: the strategic role of data in modern organizations; the end-to-end data analytics workflow from data collection to insight generation; building effective key performance indicators (KPIs); data visualization and communication techniques; model-based decision-making; and the use of common tools to support analysis and storytelling with data. Students will engage in practical exercises and case-based discussions across functional areas such as marketing, operations, HR, and strategy. Ethical concerns, cognitive biases, and limitations in data use will also be explored, enabling students to build responsible and effective decision-making capabilities in a data-driven business environment.
