5. Course Objectives:

This course provides for the graduate student the knowledge relative to emerging technologies, as well as the role and applications of these technologies in industrial fields. The graduate student will be able to explain the operation, benefits and limitations of these technologies. Furthermore, the graduate student will understand the developmental tendency of emerging technologies and apply them in engineering practices

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This course is designed for graduate students in the Master of Technology Management program. It begins with an introduction to the developmental trends of emerging technologies, along with their roles and applications. Then, several typical emerging technologies will be introduced, including 3D printing, nanotechnology, the Internet of Things (IoT), computer vision, and advanced materials. The principles of operation, advantages, and drawbacks of these technologies will be presented, along with their potential applications. This course offers useful insights into applying emerging technologies to improve productivity and effectiveness in engineering practices.
