6. Brief Description of Course Content:

The course Technology Valuation and Investment providers students with theoretical foundations and practical tools to value technology-based firms, startups, and intangible assets. It covers both traditional valuation methods (discounted cash flow – DCF, multiples, comparables) and advanced approaches such as real options, intellectual property valuation, and methods tailored to early-stage ventures. Students will examine the challenges of valuing high-growth technology companies with complex or pre-revenue business models. The course also addresses entrepreneurial finance, venture capital, private equity, and mergers & acquisitions (M&A) in technology sectors, alongside the growing importance of ESG, green innovation, and impact investing in shaping modern technology investment strategies. Through lectures, international case discussions, and group valuation projects, students will develop analytical skills, investment decision-making capabilities, and risk management competencies in the context of technological innovation and global competition.
