5. Course Objectives:

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to explain the organization, operation and development of international foreign exchange and money markets, as well as international capital flows; explain and apply the mainstream theories of exchange rates and macroeconomics in an open economy; explain the effectiveness of monetary policy in different exchange rate regimes; explain and apply the knowledge provided by behavioral economics to the formation of expectations and financial crises. An in-depth understanding of international finance combined with analytical skills, problem-solving skills and self-learning skills will support students in achieving professional qualifications in their future careers.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

The International Finance course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the theories of international finance, the relationships between macroeconomic variables such as inflation, interest rates and exchange rates; and policy choices in different contexts. In addition, the course discusses issues of money and foreign exchange markets, the international monetary system, expectations and crises, the determinants of international capital flows and the balance of payments, and innovations in international financial markets.
