5. Course Objectives:

This course helps students analyze and evaluate methods of collecting, processing, analyzing and visualizing data in business. Students will apply and synthesize advanced data analysis models such as regression, clustering, machine learning to solve business problems in areas such as finance, marketing and supply chain. Students will develop and practice skills in using data analysis tools to process big data, build in-depth reports and present analysis results in a systematic manner. At the same time, the course helps students lead and coordinate group work, debate and present to make data-based decisions. In addition, students will evaluate and optimize data analysis models to improve business performance, and propose and create strategic solutions based on data. The course also emphasizes professional ethics, ensuring transparency, accuracy and compliance with information security principles in business.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

Business data analytics is how companies, nonprofits, and state-owned enterprises use data to understand problems to solve and make better decisions. Business data analytics is applied in organizational operations, marketing, finance, and cross-departmental strategic planning. This course will help students identify, evaluate, and seize business data analytics opportunities to create business value. The course also provides basic data analysis methods such as using data to develop predictive abilities through machine learning, data mining and other prediction methods. In addition, the course also introduces optimization methods to support decision making in the context of many choices and limited resources of enterprises.
