5. Course Objectives:

In this course, students will be equipped with fundamental knowledge of environmental law and policy, an essential component of graduate legal education. They will study and discuss global environmental issues such as climate change and sustainable development. Additionally, students will analyze, evaluate, and debate international environmental conventions and examine real-world case studies.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This course is designed to introduce graduated students to in-depth knowledge of environmental law and policy. To that end, this course will include the following:

- Introduce approaches to environmental issues and environmental management today.

- Research on current situation of environmental pollution and climate change

- Environmental protection: environmental protection planning, strategic environmental assessment, environmental impact assessment and environmental protection plan

- International law on environmental protection: United Nations declarations on the environment, international conventions to which Vietnam has and will join.

- With this course, students will be equipped with basic knowledge of environmental law and policy, an important content in the process of graduate law training. Students will study and discuss global environmental issues, such as climate change and sustainable development. At the same time, students will analyze, evaluate and discuss international conventions related to the environment as well as analyze real-life situations.

- To develop skills in teamwork and problem presentation, participants will encourage group work, group discussion and report group research results.

- In particular, the skills of searching, selecting and researching documents are necessary skills for this subject so that students can complete group research papers as well as analyze real-life situations, especially documents in English.
