5. Course Objectives:

This course aims to equip students with theoretical foundations and analytical tools for understanding the interactions between the economy and the environment. It introduces key concepts in environmental externalities, pollution control, natural resource management, and climate change economics. Students will learn to apply cost–benefit analysis, environmental valuation methods, and policy instruments to evaluate environmental policies and sustainable resource use. The course emphasizes both theoretical reasoning and empirical applications relevant to developing and transitional economies.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

Environmental economics is designed to help learners understand the relationships between economic activities and the environment, and vice versa. The course discusses the theories and instruments used to analyze and measure economic and environmental relationships which is to determine appropriate decisions for the management of the environment and natural resources.
