After completing this subject, students can: a. Understand and describe basic concepts and terminology of information systems and related technologies. b. Recognize the strategic role of Management Information Systems in production and business activities by supporting the decision-making process and creating competitive advantages for the organization c. Understand the infrastructure of information systems d. Outline various real-world applications of information systems e. Describe the stages of the information system development life cycle (SDLC) and different methods for building an information system f. Be aware of the role of information system management and information system management activities g. Identify the social, legal and ethical implications of using modern information systems.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

 "Information Systems (IS) play a central role in many aspects of business operations and are one of the most crucial functional components contributing to the success of any modern economic and social organization. This course introduces students to IS, their role in the modern business environment, and the considerations for developing and managing IS to create high-quality goods and services and achieve competitive advantage. The course also covers the technological foundations of IS, issues related to privacy and information security, and associated ethical and societal concerns.
