This course provides students with knowledge and skills in a particular area of Finance from an investment and financial advisory perspective. The course covers the contents related to business valuation activities; IPOs; Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) of a business. In this module, learners are provided with a background in valuation methods currently used in financial markets, such as the comparable method; discounted cash flow methods… These methods are being used to value both public and private companies, especially in the context of M&A and IPOs, etc. This course also provides the foundation of M&A, from both buy side and sell side, including process, strategy, transaction structure and analysis. In addition, the course also discusses about initial public offerings (IPOs), providing students with basic IPO knowledge such as an overview of the decision to issue shares to the public, especially strong IPO candidates, key participants of IPOs, the IPO process etc.
