The Entrepreneurial Finance course focuses on financial planning, raising capital, and making capital structure decisions for new ventures, particularly during their early development stages. It is divided into two main sections. The first section introduces the key elements of a new venture, strategic choices, and real options. The second section concentrates on financial decisions for new ventures, including planning, assessing financial needs, and identifying and selecting appropriate funding sources. In this context, uncertainty, a defining characteristic of startup ventures, is emphasized. This high level of instability creates challenges and significantly impacts the financial decisions associated with startup projects, such as forecasting, planning, constructing financial models, and valuation. Finally, specialized valuation methods tailored to startup projects at each stage of development are thoroughly examined to help entrepreneurs enhance their chances of securing appropriate financing.
