In the knowledge economy, intellectual property has become an asset that accounts for an increasingly large proportion of the asset structure of companies, especially technology companies. By 2020, intellectual property will account for more than 80% of the total value of S&P 500 businesses. Since then, IP management has become an urgent task for every business. Therefore, this module focuses on providing students with basic concepts and knowledge about types of intellectual property and intellectual property rights; how to develop processes for managing intellectual property in business operations, especially in research and development activities; legal provisions related to intellectual property; the process of forming intellectual property; how to establish and protect rights to intellectual property; management, development and business methods as well as financial aspects of intellectual property; Thereby providing students with legal knowledge and tools to build and operate a management system, develop and effectively exploit intellectual property.
