5. Course Objectives:

This course will explore current environmental challenges and opportunities facing firms. It will provide students an overview of the relation between doing business and environmental sustainability. It aims firstly to give students a look at main drives of environmental changes, secondly to the shifting roles of government and non-government agencies, and lastly to the business responsibilities as well as opportunities. The course focuses on lifting the skill sets of students in three groups: the knowledge of the intersection of environmental sustainability and business, strategic planning, and critical-thinking skills. Critical thinking is the foundational skill for strategic planning, and strategic planning is the lens through which we will study business and environmental sustainability.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

It is fundamental and essential in today's digital and global economy to have a deep understanding of data for better decision making. Raw data is everywhere and most business organizations are creating and owning different primary and secondary data sources but how can managers effectively exploit information from these sources? How can managers transform raw data into valuable insights to support or predict the expected outcome of a policy decision?

This module, designed in an application-oriented manner, provides tools and methods to help students answer the above two questions. Students will have access to modern data analysis techniques alongside practical activities to ensure that students can immediately apply the knowledge and tools imparted. Specifically, students will explore the following topics:

- Data exploratory analysis;

- Models for data-driven decision making;

- Economic and Revenue forecasting.
