5. Course Objectives:

The “Advanced Public Finance” course provides both foundational and advanced knowledge of public finance. First, the course clarifies the principles and fundamental issues of public finance, such as the distinction between public finance and the public economy, public goods, externalities, and fiscal decentralization. Second, it helps learners understand the advantages and disadvantages of various methods for analyzing and evaluating public expenditure decisions. Finally, the course establishes a foundation for learners to analyze the underlying rationale behind decisions and choices in the public sector, particularly those related to public policy.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This subject equips learners with advanced knowledge about public finance. Specifically, the course will focus on theoretical models and tools used by the government to intervene in the economy including: distribution and efficiency, external theory; public expenditure and public goods, benefit and cost analysis, public selection, fiscal decentralization.
