6. Brief Description of Course Content:

International Finance deals with the financial management of the firms that operate in an international/global business environment. Emphasizing broad concepts and real-world practices rather than extensive quantitative material, the course provides a clear, conceptual framework for analyzing key financial decisions in multinational firms.  The approach of the course is to treat global financial strategy as a natural and logical extension of the principles learned in corporate finance.

As the focus of the course is decision making in a global context, it addresses such topics as current currency regimes, foreign exchange theory, markets, foreign exchange exposure, financing of the multinational firm, foreign investment decision, and capital budgeting. The course also reviews the international activities of banks, specialized forms of financing, international working capital management and the global tax environment.
