To introduce students to the foundations of qualitative research and the key principles and characteristics that distinguish qualitative research approaches.
To develop students’ knowledge and skills in data analysis in qualitative research.
To develop students’ ability to write up a qualitative research report.
6. Brief Description of Course Content:
The module introduces philosophical foundations and basic characteristics of qualitative research. The module explains what qualitative research can contribute to the understanding of the research problems that interest students. The module also covers a range of qualitative data collection methods as well as the discussion of their advantages and disadvantages. The module also covers knowledge and skills for data analysis, presentation and writing-up findings.
