5. Course Objectives:

This course provides an in-depth foundation in agricultural procurement management within the supply chain, with a particular focus on key characteristics such as seasonality, perishability, and price volatility. Students will gain a solid understanding of procurement planning, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiation. Additionally, the course covers essential knowledge on storage, transportation, quality control, financial analysis, risk management, and emerging innovations such as blockchain and e-commerce to meet the modernization needs of agribusiness companies. Through this course, students will develop essential skills for success in procurement, including planning, analysis, evaluation, and management. Negotiation, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills will be strengthened through practical exercises to ensure effective long-term collaboration with business partners. Furthermore, students will learn how to apply technology and procurement software, manage risks, solve complex problems, and conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making in procurement operations. 6. Brief Description of Course Content:

The Agricultural Procurement Management course provides a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of procurement activities in agribusiness companies, covering both fundamental theories and practical applications.

First, students will explore the concepts, roles, and unique characteristics of agricultural procurement within the supply chain, including seasonality, perishability, and price volatility. The course also addresses key challenges such as weather impacts, market fluctuations, and quality standard requirements, while clarifying the responsibilities of the procurement department in agribusiness enterprises.

Next, students will learn how to develop procurement plans through demand forecasting, supply analysis, supplier selection, and cost optimization, utilizing modern tools and software. Additionally, building and maintaining supplier relationships, evaluating strategies, managing conflicts, and fostering long-term collaboration are essential components of the course.
