5. Course Objectives:

By the end of this course, students should be able to: Apply the concepts and terminology commonly used in international economics (assessed by reports); Explain the trend of globalisation and theories of international economics (assessed by the mid-term test); Identify economic integration, political, legal, and other environmental factors to compare national and regional economies throughout the world (assessed by the debates and assignment); Know the meaning and effect of trade policies and an introduction of international finance (assessed by the final exam).

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

International Economics course provides an understanding of the environment of international trade and finance. Main topics include globalisation, theories of international trade and investment, instruments of government intervention in international trade and investment, economic integration, understanding emerging markets, economic development and trade, multinational corporations and global sourcing, the international monetary and financial environment.
