Today, technology plays an important role in economic and social development in every organization and every country. This subject provides students with knowledge and skills in technology, technology administration in organizations. Technology management is an important task and must be carried out through many steps. From evaluation, forecasting, selection, etc., to the transfer of new technologies, they must be carried out cautiously, in order, especially in the context of countries and organizations with low technological capacity, and the technological environment is still limited.
6. Brief Description of Course Content:
In the section on technology and technology management, students will be equipped with concepts related to technology, technology governance, technology environment and operations related to public development strategies, technology of organizations. Next, students are equipped with knowledge and skills to assess technology and technological competencies, including the basis for assessment, with tools for analysis and measures to improve technological capacity. In addition to the assessment, technology forecasting and technology planning is also an important task because if the forecast and planning are not good, it will lead to the wrong choice of technology. After having the knowledge and skills to evaluate, forecast and plan, students are equipped with the knowledge to select and innovate technology. The task of choosing technology is important because the process of investing in technology is costly and time-consuming, so if choosing the right technology, it will bring a lot of damage to the organization. The reality is that technological developments are not the same between organizations leading to transfer, be it within or outside of a country. In order to the process of technology transfer to be successful, it is also necessary to understand the influencing factors in order for the new technology to work for the technology recipient. In the final chapter, students are equipped with knowledge related to technology management, which explores the role, goals and scope of this job as well as recognizes the relationship between technology development and socioeconomic development.
