5. Course Objectives:
At the end of this course, students will be able to change their mindset in dealing with multifaceted challenges of life, understand the role of sustainable development in solving global problems, and be able to apply sustainable development principles to real-world situations, especially in Vietnam. The course provides students with a suitable pathway for a successful career path in a world that is increasingly emphasising on sustainability. The course is designed to introduce students to the key principles, concepts and challenges of sustainable development, with a focus on the Vietnamese context. The objectives of the course are as follows: • Explore the key principles and concepts of sustainable development, including environmental sustainability, social balance and economic development. • Learn about the challenges that Viet Nam faces in the Sustainable Development Goals and the role of stakeholders in addressing these challenges. • Develop critical thinking skills and global awareness through the analysis of case studies and real-world examples. • Promote a sense of civic responsibility by encouraging students to participate in solving sustainability-related issues of communities and organizations.
