5. Course Objectives:
This course is designed to equip students with a solid foundation in translation methodologies and techniques, enabling them to effectively translate business documents from Vietnamese to English and vice versa. Furthermore, it provides students with essential business-related vocabulary in the fields of economics, finance, and commerce, empowering them to apply translation theories and strategies to relevant texts. In addition to linguistic skills, this course also fosters the development of crucial soft skills, including teamwork, time management, and research proficiency.
6. Brief Description of Course Content:
Over 11 weeks of study, students will learn some translation fundamentals, basic rules, and translation skills and learn to systematize grammar points and common sentence structures. English-Vietnamese. Translation theory integrated through practical translations, practice linguistics for the subject is mainly texts with original Vietnamese-English economic-financial-commercial topics.
The class will be highly interactive between teachers and students, between students and students, and between study groups to discuss solving translation problems. After each session, students are assigned individual and group translations and will present them in the next session for the teacher to edit and the whole class to learn from experience.
