5. Course Objectives:

The objective of the Risk Analysis and Modeling course is to equip students with the in-depth knowledge and practical skills needed to analyze, evaluate, and model risks in the financial sector. Specifically, this course aims to: - Help students master the concepts related to risk and modelling, including common types of risks such as market risk, credit risk, and operational risk. - Use quantitative methods to analyze and evaluate the level of risk in real-world situations, including collecting, processing, and interpreting risk data. - Learn how to build and apply mathematical, statistical, and computational models to simulate and predict risk scenarios. This includes the use of popular modelling tools and software. - Help students learn how to forecast risks and analyze different scenarios based on data modelling, thereby making effective risk management decisions.- - Students will learn how to test and evaluate the effectiveness of the models they have build and refine and improve them to ensure their accuracy and applicability in practice. - Students will be introduced to modern risk analysis and modelling software, thereby improving their practical skills and ability to apply knowledge to real-world situations.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

The course explores quantitative methods of risk measurement and modelling. The course provides students with a thorough understanding of market risk analysis from both a practical and technical point of view. Topics in the course are focused on price and return properties, univariate and multivariate models to forecasting risk, risk measures, implementing and evaluating of risk forecasts, and simulation.
After completing this course, students can understand theoretical concepts and techniques which are use in market risk analysis. Besides, the course also helps students involving programming in quantitative risk management. This will help students to deal with real world problems in risk managment from perspective of quantitative aspect.
