5. Course Objectives:

This course aims to provide students with a theoretical and practical framework for global portfolio management. Within the context of international investment, the course focuses on analyzing and applying theories of international finance and financial investment to real-world issues, including analysis of the global investment environment, strategic and tactical approaches to international capital and asset allocation, currency risk management in international investments, and valuation of international financial assets.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This course focuses on the theoretical and practical issues of financial investment and portfolio management in a global environment. Given the investment landscape across international capital markets, the importance of analyzing, determining, and forecasting the potential effects of currency exchange rates is underscored. Core concepts such as the capital asset pricing model, portfolio diversification, equity, and bond portfolio management are discussed and evaluated from the cross-border perspective. In addition, currency risk management strategies are appraised in the context of international investment. Eventually, the course introduces the principles and methods for evaluating international portfolio performance, from which learners can accomplish an approach for the global investment process.
