5. Course Objectives:
This course equips students with a rigorous and up to date foundation of knowledge in financial technology and its impacts across key domains of the financial system. Students will develop the ability to understand and critically analyse core technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and blockchain, together with their applications in payments, lending, asset management, insurance, and compliance management. In addition, the course supports students in strengthening their capacity to analyse innovative business models, identify emerging FinTech trends, and apply learned concepts to practical contexts in both Vietnam and international markets. The course also fosters essential professional skills, including project management, critical thinking, presentation, teamwork, and self learning, to support the effective development and implementation of FinTech products and services in modern finance and banking.
6. Brief Description of Course Content:
The course “Financial Technology (FinTech)” provides students with a comprehensive and systematic understanding of technological transformation in finance under the influence of digital technologies. The content covers foundational technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, and blockchain, along with prominent applications including platform banking, electronic payments, robo advising, InsurTech, and RegTech. The course also addresses shifts in customer behaviour, relevant and improved business models, and the legal, ethical, and governance challenges that arise during digital transformation.
