"The purpose of this course is to develop knowledge of the fundamental probability tools for quantitatively assessing risk. The application of these tools to problems encountered in actuarial science and finance is emphasized."

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This course is designed to help students master basic concepts of general probability, random variables, multivariate random variables, and their applications. To excel in this course, students should have a solid understanding of Calculus II. Additionally, the knowledge gained from the Probability course will serve as an important foundation for other subjects such as Mathematical Statistics, Econometrics, Stochastic Processes, Long-term Actuarial Mathematics 1, 2, Short-term Actuarial Mathematics 1, 2.
