5. Course Objectives:

The subject “Analysis and Architecture Design” introduces the basics and guidelines for architectural analysis and design concept, strategy within an urban context. It is not meant to be teaching only the whole design process but rather focusing on how to analyze and understand the existing. It forces students to read architecture as a part or an element of the existing systems. Students need to learn how to analyze the given site within the existing urban morphology, topography, landscapes, local weather and climate patterns, and social context in order to propose an ecological and socially responsive architectural concept.
