This course provides an overview of accounting information security and presents the lifecycle of security system development in today's business environment. It emphasizes how to identify threats and attacks on information systems, how to assess risk management frameworks and processes, how to design security policies, standards, and implementation practices, and how to design information security education, training, and awareness (SETA) programs to build an effective and efficient security plan. It also provides an understanding of how to design contingency plans and apply logical access controls, some technological controls, and physical access controls to achieve information security objectives.
With the knowledge, skills, and attitudes provided in this course, students can grasp the basic knowledge of information security and accounting information security in an IT environment. In addition, learners can become risk assessment and information security/accounting information experts in businesses and other organizations.
