6. Brief Description of Course Content:

The Entrepreneurial Ecosystem provides a framework and practical guidance for startup community builders through the experiential lens of several situations.

The Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in each country that is part of the global startup ecosystem has grown in scale, exists in more places, involves more people and organizations, and generates more events than at any time in history. It provides an exhilarating and optimistic boost to entrepreneurship that is unmatched in many sectors of society. This increase in start-up activity can be verified based on a number of scenarios. However, there are a number of reasons that need to be carefully considered. While progress is impressive, no one addresses the question of what happens when setbacks are inevitable. Entrepreneurs will always create new companies, but will actors in the startup ecosystem continue to bring resources and long-term commitments when the good times become challenging, when the business environment changes rapidly and unpredictably?

The module will provide learners with how to build and operate a sustainable ecosystem for startups. The module also provides a foundation for entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial thinking that is valuable to society. As startup ecosystems and communities become ubiquitous across the planet, the lessons from their growth and development will apply to all types of organizations. Applying startup ecosystem frameworks to governments, academia, large corporations, and nonprofits can yield strong and sustainable results.
