5. Course Objectives:

The course "Introduction to Leisure Services" aims to provide students with a comprehensive knowledge base of the leisure industry, from the historical, philosophical, psychological, sociological and physiological aspects of leisure activities. The course provides an in-depth look at the types of public, non-profit, commercial and tourism leisure facilities, and describes how leisure provides fun, enrichment and useful services for all ages. Students will develop the ability to reason, defend personal views, and increase creativity in the design of leisure activities. In addition, the course helps students understand the role of professional work attitudes, recognize career opportunities, and identify the resources needed to develop a career in a challenging and potential industry of the 21st century.

Entertainment is a thriving industry with phenomenal growth, enormous potential, and diverse career paths. The module presents the historical, philosophical, and social aspects of the entertainment industry; providing new insights into public, non-profit, commercial entertainment facilities and tourism businesses; describes entertainment that offers fun, richness, and services to people of all ages; and access to a range of career options that simultaneously support them as they explore their benefits and prepare for a challenging career in one of the leading industries of the 21st century.
