5. Course Objectives:

The "Event and Leisure Services Research Project" course aims to equip students with the ability to conduct a sustainable research project in the restaurant, event and entertainment services sector. Students will be guided to identify a research topic, develop research objectives and results, and present results professionally in both written and oral presentations. During the course, students will develop research skills such as analyzing, interpreting, and applying different approaches to provide information to support evidence-based decision making. In addition, they will learn how to use digital tools proficiently to access, analyze, and apply data to real-world projects. The course also emphasizes self-reflection, self-awareness, and defining career development goals. Students will receive support from their instructors to improve their research skills, while building self-awareness and responsibility in a professional working environment.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

The aim of this unit is to offer students the opportunity to engage in sustained research in a specific field of study. The unit enables students to demonstrate the capacity and ability to identify a research theme, to develop research aims, objectives and outcomes, and to present the outcomes of such research in both written and verbal formats. The unit also encourages students to reflect on their engagement in the research process during which recommendations for future, personal development are key learning points.
