5. Course Objectives:

The course "Introduction to Events" aims to provide students with an overview of the history, development and emergence of the events industry, and explore the social, cultural, demographic, environmental, political, economic and tourism factors that impact events. The course focuses on building knowledge of event strategy, from basic concepts, detailed planning to leadership, human resource management and applying marketing methods to ensure the success of events. Students will develop skills to analyze factors affecting event demand, assess the importance of the global meetings industry, and understand the roles of groups, service buyers, suppliers, and intermediaries in the industry. In addition, they will learn how to apply theory to practice, solving real-world problems that occur before, during and after events. The course also encourages students to self-evaluate, recognize the value of the self-reflection process reflect, and build personal and professional goals to develop professional capacity in the promising field of tourism and travel."

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

The unit introduces the history, development stages and emergence of event industry; investigate factors impact to event such as social, culture, demographic, environment, politic, economy; especially tourism, nature factors and the importance of MICE industry. Besides, learners will have the overview to build strategy, action plan, influence leadership style, team management, marketing campaign to bring success. Morevover, learners are able to apply event marketing, planning for sport, entertainment, tourism events.
