This course aims to provide students with basic knowledge related to fixed income securities, helping students gain knowledge about fixed income securities, be able to value fixed income securities, identify related risks as well as build risk prevention strategies when investing in fixed income securities at a basic level. The course also prepares students with professional skills such as calculation and problem solving skills to help students develop their future careers better.
6. Brief Description of Course Content:
This course provides students with basic knowledge of fixed income securities, especially bonds. Specifically, students will be introduced to different types of fixed income securities and their characteristics; bond markets; principles of valuation, especially bond valuation; properties of term structure, risks associated with investing in fixed income securities and how to measure risks when investing in fixed income securities, basic knowledge of risk hedging strategies in investing in fixed income securities.
