5. Course Objectives:
This course aims to provide students with a theoretical and practical framework for expanding financial investments from traditional instruments to alternative instruments. The course will first introduce alternative asset classes and tools and techniques for assessing the risk and return characteristics of each of these asset classes. Next, the course will provide the foundations of portfolio risk management and allocation through specific strategies for each alternative investment group (real estate, hedge funds, private equity funds and structured products).
6. Brief Description of Course Content:
This course will provide students with general knowledge about alternative investments. Specifically, this course will help students learn about real estate investment, hedge funds, private equity funds / venture capital and structured products. The main content of the course includes in-depth study through analysis of how alternative investment strategies (especially hedge funds) are implemented, how to evaluate these strategies, how to manage risks and how to evaluate companies implementing alternative investment strategies.
