5. Course Objectives:

- Epidemiology is a subject that helps students majoring in Hospital Management to know the general causes of diseases, analyze the causes, and find solutions to prevent epidemics. At the same time, epidemiology helps students understand the research methods used in community studies. - Epidemiology is a science with scientific research methods based on data and based on a systematic and unbiased approach to collecting, analyzing and interpreting data. - Students who understand basic epidemiological methods tend to rely on careful observation and use valid comparison groups to evaluate whether what has been observed, such as the number of cases of a disease in a particular area during a particular period of time or the frequency of exposure among people with a disease, differs from what might be expected. However, epidemiology also draws on methods from other scientific fields, including biostatistics and informatics, with biological, economic, social, and behavioral sciences.
