5. Course Objectives:

This course is designed according to the development sequence of hotel investment decision making, specifically as follows: - First, it introduces the method of market analysis and evaluation: the first step is to identify the potential market, identify the product to be invested in and determine the appropriate location. Then, apply market analysis techniques, competitive position analysis, location analysis, supply-demand analysis, etc. - The next step is to present revenue forecasting and cost forecasting techniques, which are the basis for break-even analysis and calculation of investment decision criteria. - Finally, different investment strategies are presented. The issue of capital sources and capital mobilization is also introduced, providing a comprehensive picture of hotel investment activities.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This module is designed to follow the basic steps in making a hotel investment decision. Firstly, the module introduces approaches of market analysis and evaluation. Then, it presents revenue and cost forecasting techniques which serve as the basis for break-even analysis and calculation of investment decision-marking criteria later. Finally, various investment strategies will be discussed. The topic of capital and capital mobilization will also be introduced, providing an overview of hotel investment activities.
