5. Course Objectives:

The objective of the course is to equip students with knowledge about the operations of departments in hotel accommodation services, the relationships between departments and the role of management in coordinating resources into departments to facilitate smooth and efficient operations. Students are introduced to management methods in each department, problems that may arise, and methods commonly used to solve management situations.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

This unit provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the diverse accommodation services, the different forms of ownership and classification systems. The function, the role and the importance of each department play within accommodation services will be introduced also be assessed along with the facilities and security functions of accommodation services. By this unit, students will be able to identify trends and technologies for the sector and the impact they have on the different functions, services and guest provisions.
