Brief Course Description

1. Course Title:

Probability and Statistics for Engineers

2. Language of Instruction:

Tiếng Việt

3. Course Code:

INT547099

4. Credits:

5. Course Objectives:

The Probability and Statistics for Engineers course provides students with basic knowledge of probability theory and statistical applications, including common probability distributions, data collection and processing using statistical software. Students will learn how to apply statistical methods to solve practical problems such as parameter estimation, hypothesis testing, analysis of variance, and simple and multiple linear correlation analysis. The program is specifically designed for future engineers, emphasizing formulas and practical applications, not mathematical theory, to help students develop analytical thinking and problem-solving skills in engineering and industrial contexts.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

The course provides students with basic knowledge of probability theory: Common forms of probability distributions. How to collect data and process data using statistical software. Applying some parameter estimation problems, statistical hypothesis testing, and variance analysis. Single linear correlation analysis and multi-parameter linear correlation analysis. The program is written with the main target audience in mind, which are future engineers, so they focus on applied formulas and do not place too much emphasis on theoretical mathematical issues.
