5. Course Objectives:
The Technology Project Management course is designed to provide students with foundational knowledge and essential skills to manage projects in the technology field. Students will be introduced to key concepts of project management, including the role of the project management body and the critical factors required for successful project implementation. The course emphasizes the five main project management process groups: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. Students will learn to apply these processes to build and manage projects comprehensively, from the idea phase to project completion. Additionally, students will develop advanced skills in areas such as project integration, scope management, time management, cost management, quality assurance, human resources, communication, risk management, and procurement. These skills enable students to analyze, plan, and execute technology projects in industrial environments. The ultimate goal of the course is to help students not only master theoretical knowledge but also enhance their analytical thinking, teamwork abilities, and decision-making skills. This prepares them to participate in large-scale technology projects and meet the practical demands of the modern industry.
6. Brief Description of Course Content:
Technology project management is a module that examines the introduction of new technologies and technological changes in the production of goods and services for the market. This course integrates technology into business and contrasts commercialization with its benefits/disadvantages for business and society. The course design consists of three main parts; The first is knowledge of technology, technology trends in industries, management of technology deployment, and importantly, the combination of people and technology in the development of competitive solutions at enterprises. The second part is the project of applying a new technology solution as well as optimally exploiting the technologies of an enterprise. This section is studied in a project-based way and applied in a business context. Finally, there are individual skills for students in accessing technology, analyzing which technologies bring new value to businesses, and skills working in digital transformation/technology solutions enhancement projects for Business.
