Provide knowledge and skills about management information systems, one of the most important functional parts for the success of organizations; Use and reorganize information systems to exploit them effectively, create quality products and gain a competitive advantage; Understand the concepts, constituent elements, role, position of the system in the organization; Understand how the system supports business operations, decisions and creates a competitive advantage; Study some typical information systems in the form of case studies.

6. Brief Description of Course Content:

Information systems (IS) have been playing a central role in numerous facets of business and are the functional elements, which contribute to the success of modern businesses. This course introduces students to information systems, their roles in the modern business environment, and considerations in developing and managing information systems to create high-quality products and services and to achieve the competitive advantage. The course will also introduce students to technology infrastructure that underlies information systems, and ethical and social issues relating to information systems.
