- Clarify the roles and functions of purchasing and supply activities
- Clarify the role of the purchasing function throughout the supply chain.
- Understand local and global purchasing and supply strategies. Supply strategy, solving quality and cost problems.
- Understand the supply process and apply technology in the supply process and supply contract management to achieve the highest efficiency.
- Know how to create strategic cooperative relationships with suppliers, implement corporate social responsibility in purchasing.
- Understand how to evaluate purchasing efficiency and new trends in supply.
6. Brief Description of Course Content:
This course examines supply chain management fundamentals, strategy, and execution. Coursework examines the role of supply management across the entire supply chain and addresses strategic cost management; make vs. buy vs. partner decisions; supplier evaluation, selection, assessment and quality assurance; the sourcing/procurement process; and e- and global sourcing.
