The course helps students understand and apply techniques for evaluating the impact of public policies, development programs and projects on beneficiaries; thereby helping stakeholders see the true effectiveness of development interventions, enforcing accountability for stakeholders, learning from experience in designing and implementing interventions, and implementing results-based management. This course focuses on teaching students the basic quantitative methods of evaluating the impact of a public policy, development program, or investment project (which can be at the national, local, and business, organization level) after they have been implemented by experimental or quasi-experimental design.
